Short Papers / Abstract Submission

Abstract Submission Track

The 1st joint edition of the Computer-Assisted Pelvic Imaging (CAPI) and Women’s Health (WOMEN) Workshops aims to bring together the MIC and CAI perspectives needed to understand and enhance women’s healthcare pathways. Despite the growing awareness of health disparities, there still remains an important gap in research efforts and funding between men’s and women’s health. In this workshop, we will specifically focus on imaging and computer-assisted interventions for pathologies that are specific to women, such as gynecological disorders, reproductive health issues, and conditions influenced by hormonal differences.

Short Papers / Abstract submissions

We also welcome submissions of short papers/abstracts (4-pages) to forecast work in progress and emerging ideas on the previously mentioned topics. These short papers will provide the authors with an opportunity to highlight their work during the workshop, but will not be published in the LNCS proceedings and will only be considered for poster presentation. The short papers and their reviews will be made available on OpenReview.

We invite short papers/abstracts (4-pages) submissions using the MICCAI 2026 template on OpenReview on topics related but not limited to :

  • Medical image computing algorithms dedicated to pelvic imaging,

  • Algorithms for early detection and follow-up of female-specific pathologies,

  • Evaluation methods addressing clinical validity and performance in female-specific modalities and datasets,

  • Multimodal image fusion in female-specific modalities (e.g., TVUS/MRI),

  • Computer-assisted interventions in female-specific pathologies (e.g., robotic surgery, AI-assisted laparoscopic surgery, uterine artery embolization),

  • Surgical data analysis for outcome prediction and intelligent planning in gynecological disorders,

  • Discussions on specific aspects of women’s health, emphasizing the need for integration of sex and gender considerations in MIC and CAI communities,

  • Applications of MIC or CAI algorithms for a better understanding of women’s health.

Supplementary materials

Supplementary materials are limited to multimedia content (e.g., videos) as warranted by the technical application (e.g., robotics, surgery, ...). These files should not display any proofs, analyses, or additional results, and should not show any identification markers. Violation of this guideline will lead to desk rejection. PDF files may not be submitted as supplementary materials in 2026 unless authors are citing a paper that has not yet been published. In such a case, authors are required to submit an anonymized version of the cited paper.

All supplementary material must be self-contained and zipped into a single file. Only the following formats are allowed: avi, mp4, wmv. We encourage authors to submit videos encoded with the MP4 codec (e.g., DivX) within an AVI container. A README text file must be included with each video specifying the exact codec used and a URL where the codec can be downloaded. The maximum file size is 100MB.

While the reviewers will have access to such supplementary material, they are under no obligation to review it, and the paper itself must contain all necessary information and illustrations for review purposes.

Anonymity Guidelines

The anonymity guidelines require to remove the author and affiliation information from the title page and the paper's header. The authors have to make references to their work anonymously, by citing it in the third person. If the anonymity requirements are not fulfilled, automatic paper rejection is performed.

Submission Instructions

Accepted short papers/abstracts will not be published in the LNCS proceedings and will only be considered for poster presentation. The short papers and their reviews will be made available on OpenReview. Submissions should be anonymized and at most 4 pages incl. references, in LNCS paper template. The review process is conducted in a double-blind manner, following MICCAI standards.
